4-Tune Vintage Cuckoo Clock for Sale
I've decided to sell this one and am looking for $1200 for it. It's 30-hour and P&P to USA will of course be in addition to this figure. Anyone interested, please contact me.
On one tune it sticks a bit, but other than that, it's fine.

Gaius's 'Good' Double Fusee, Wood-Plate, Wall Cuckoo
I won this one from an auction house about 2 years ago and is still to be overhauled. It should sound fabulous when complete, but the springs appear to be 'tired' and don't want to wind it up again, as the fusees are I think 'cat gut'. Many repairers/restorers change this to phosphor-bronze for rigidity and reliability. The bellows are intact and can be made to sound, but sluggishly.
If anyone knows a reliable company that can overhaul and restore these in England, UK, I'd be excited and glad of your advice. I know of only Carlton Clocks in England who have done these to a high level.

Fantastic cuckoo!! You don’t see the wall double fusees terribly often. Looks like a Ketterer to me.

Piekarski Cuckoo Clock Collection - Its new location and the Piekarski Brothers
Hi Folks
Just to say that the collection has now moved to Waterford, Southern Ireland. I've not been yet, but it would appear there has been a lot of investment in the area and there are various museums to visit. Whether the clocks are set up working or not, I don't know, but I doubt it. Sadly, we lost Roman Piekarski about 2 years or so ago and I knew he wasn't a well man. I remember, maybe 8 or 9 years ago at a Haydock Park clock and watch fair, England, he came to our stall and mentioned the number of tablets he was on. I have no idea what his brother, Maz is doing now, but I do believe he either was or still is into his vintage cars and motor bikes!
About 30+ years ago, I remember being taken to the Nether Tabley Old Schoolhouse where their…
Very well done Gary! Thanks for the link. So, now I know a fair bit more than I did.

GHS Cuckoo - Gaius's
Question - can anyone answer this: why is it Beha and the 19th century makers make the cuckoo call acceptably realistic and slow, yet the present manufacturers can't - or won't? I've heard them ridiculously fast on the 2-weighters and, rarely, acceptably slow on the big beasty 8-day modern ones. Also, no real attempt at making the cuckoo birds themselves appear authentic - like Beha and others did.
I wanted to ask a couple of modern small volume cuckoo makers that very question the last time I was in Triberg. I wouldn’t mind buying a modern clock if the attention to detail was the same as the antique clocks.

Gaius's Latest Cuckoo - GHS - Won on eBay
This clock shows GHS on movement and is essentially a 30-hour. The cuckoo call is great and that's what attracted me to it: in-tune, not too fast at all and well restored/overhauled.

Did I spell it correctly?! LOL
