After I purchased this project at an auction some 9 years ago it is finally finished. I am onto the final stages on the 26 pipe flute clock with the two automated birds.

I started this project some 9 year’s ago and I’m finally finishing it up. I just had a piano tuner come to the house and tune the 63 strings on this harp clock. It plays eight songs and changes the song every hour automatically. It is a very lathe clock but it plays magnificently.

These are the elaborate hands off of the organ clock with the two automated birds. I ran them though the ultrasonic cleaner to get them ready for when Pobo is finished restoring the front shield.

Here are some early all wood clocks from the 1700’s with cow tail-pendulum and glass bells. Also one of my flute clocks playing a tune.

Note: the Holzerader clocks have their original weights even the glass weights along with the glass bells which is super rare having to survive close to 246 years!

The clock has a unique arrangement for the weight and movement drive. The rope actually loops though the movement which allows for it to be much longer than if it was just attached to a weight and run over the drive pulley.

By creating a loop in the drive rope it is almost twice at long which cuts down on the amount of times you have to wind the clock. One more thing I discovered is that the clock plays its tune every four hours rather than on the hour as must clocks do.
